Welcome to the new blogsite

Hey, thanks for stopping by our blog for a visit.  We hope you stay a bit.  Pull up a nice, comfy chair, grab a bite to eat, (perhaps a pumpkin spiced latte, oh yummm) and get to know us a little.  This is our blog….our little piece of the world.  We love weddings and we love capturing couples in love .  It is the place where we update our photos and tell you bits and pieces about our life with three kids.  So, check out our galleries, drop us a comment (cause you know we just love to hear from ya) and, yeah, don’t be a stranger.

We work all over the globe, so don’t hesitate to ask us for a quote on how much we would charge to capture your crazy, wild and exciting wedding day, wherever it may be happening.  We have two offices, New York 631-758-7912 and  Phoenix Arizona 480-297-8990  in Sedona call 928-252-2908 or by e-mail at info@fotoverdi.com.  Follow me on Facebook (Melinda Richard Verdi) and Twitter (Fotoverdi).

new york engagement photography ~ heather and mark

Heather is a sister of someone we did way back in 2006, Wendy and Jay, who you can see under Recent Weddings.  Heather and Mark are getting married this coming February in New York City at the Chelsea Piers.  They live in Brooklyn right near the Manhattan Bridge so we decided to do their engagement shooting in and around that area. There is tons of graffiti covered walls which provide such a colorful backdrop for the photos.  We had had it scheduled a few weeks ago but were confronted with a rainy, drizzily day so we had switched it.

They both lead very busy lives and travel alot, so the only day that worked for the both of us was this past weekend on Saturday, yup, you guessed it, the day of the 2009 blizzard, LOL.  We had it scheduled early so at that point we only had flurries, but it was cold and windy.  What troopers these two were.  At one point, Rich made Mark sit on this staircase and we laughed and laughed as I said they would come down with a bladder infection sitting on such cold cement!

I thought Mark was going to die, never having met either Rich or I, he was like “okay then!”  Now he knows what he is dealing with, LOL, right Mark?  But as you can see from the photos, they are both a ton of fun, and they never stop laughing.

When went down to the bridge, low and behold, there was a heart made out of stones that someone had done.  How perfect was that and we all laughed at the site of it.

Well now they can tell their kids some day how we did this shooting during the big blizzard of 2009!
