new york engagement photography ~ carol and matt

Carol and Matt have a long history with a ferry named the “Kiki”………….you see it goes back and forth, back and forth, all summer long across the wide open bay to a little known strip of land known as Fire Island National Seashore.  It is a constant.  It is on this island, that a community called Davis Park exists.  A cluster of homes that makes up a very, tight knit community of beachcombers.  Carol’s grandfather had a house built many years ago on such land and where, as a child, she and her family has spent many a summer vacationing.  It is also now, where she will remember that she took the photos that will mark her engagement and impending marriage to Matt.  With far reaching blue skies that were as bright as the sea itself, clustered among big, puffy, cotton balls of clouds, a salt breeze kissed our tanned skin and blew in our hair, as we set out with Carol and Matt and Carol’s parents and their dog, Chief to that little strip of land across the bay.

Chief’s shadow as he awaited patiently for the sound of the Kiki’s horn alerting us that we had landed.

Sea glass a gentle summer remembrance….

With the Atlantic Ocean’s waves pounding in the background and the breezy look on Carol’s face as Matt held her, this night proved that the long wait for the man who would become her husband, father to her children, confidant and friend, had at long last arrived, and she was safe in the haven of his arms.

They strolled along the sand, hand in hand….

playing with each other as lovers often do in the deserted sand…..

hugging and holding each other…

and then caressed each other every so gently, as their lips touched and the salty sea flowed over them….

And, then just as it had began, we boarded the ferry back to the mainland………….
