new york wedding photography ~ ellen and tom

This past Friday, we had the pleasure of doing Ellen and Tom’s wonderful wedding at Giorgio’s in Baiting Hollow, New York.  It is out in the farm country and so pretty.  It was a very blustery day here on Long Island.  Nice sky but cold….  We had made arrangements to start with Ellen and Tom at the Hilton Garden Inn in Riverhead.  Tom, lying on the bed on the right, was busy watching the commentary with his guys on ESPN on the Yankee Game that night.  It would be the Yankees loss later that day to Texas, sob, sob.  We took some shots of them and their attire and then made our way to the other side of the hotel lobby, where Ellen was busy getting make up done by the wonderful Okana with the rest of her girls and her mom.

Here’s Ellen’s brother, Jay, who apparently does this all the time, uses Ellen’s brush to do his beard, mustache and head hair…..what head hair you ask?  Sorry, Jay, I just had to say it, LOL!!!  Meanwhile, Ellen is on the other side of the room laughing hysterically saying, “yes, he does this all the time, not just for the camera!”  Too funny…

Ellen reminded me of a very young Raquel Welch, just gorgeous, right?

Here, is two of the girls, busily closing up the long, long ties on her Maggie Sottero gown.

A few shots were taken in the lobby of the hotel, and then off to Giorgio’s to have the “reveal” whereby Tom would see Ellen for the first time.

This was taken in the upstairs bridal suite at Giorgios…..we just had to make Ellen play the “Diva” with a capital “D”, with a dress like that!

Even though we did the photos before the ceremony, I am mixing it up a bit, so as to not just post portraits all in one lump.  Because of the cold, blustery day we had, their ceremony was inside in the ballroom.  Just love all the colored lights George had installed this past year.  Really makes for pretty photos that pop with color!

And, here are the new Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Reilly!

As I said, these had been taken earlier in the day, hence the blue skies, in George’s new patio area.  It is so much better now, as it is a whole lot bigger and works beautifully for bridal party photos.  Now, George, can you do something about the wind coming off the golf course, LOL….

Our little 5-some, two maids of honor and one best man, with our happy couple….

That Tom is one handsome guy, I can’t wait to see the kids these two have, they will pretty darn good looking.  Ellen told me that Tom is so sweet, he leaves her little love notes all over the house.  Hmmmm, maybe I should have him teach this skill to Rich as I don’t think I have gotten a little love note in quite some time, hahaha.

Our guys all dressed up and ready to party!

Ellen and the groomsmen…

The newly installed “vineyard” that George has is so pretty…..

Just check out that sky…..AMAZING……

Then, due to the fact that Ellen and Tom were literally freezing to death, we came into the lobby and did some more all around the lobby.

Tom, with his brandy to ward off any lingering chills….

Earlier in the day, while I was doing detail shots, I noticed in a bag that Ellen had, this nose and glasses mask.  I told her to bring it as I just knew it would provide a comic photo for the two of them.  We first told Tom to wear it, but his head was too big, LOL….so Ellen obliged.

Right next to the bar set-up for cocktail hour, there was a sushi station complete with fortune cookies.  Upon opening the cookie, just check out this fortune that Ellen and Tom found in their cookie.  Is this not hysterical or what?  Remember, we had not yet done the ceremony at this point, LOL!  I swear you can’t make this stuff up!

There was very pretty light streaming in George’s restaurant bar area.  We had never taken photos in there before, but thought, what the heck…I think it worked out rather nicely…

Some details taken throughout the day…..

Then before you knew it, it was time to start our party and have our couple enter the ballroom to be with their guests.

Cutting through that cake for that tiny slice, proved a tad bit difficult for Tom….

Ellen’s dance with her other brother, Lance…

Tom’s dance with his mom, Kathy….and then he did a dance with his grandmother on his dad’s side, Connie….  Kathy was quite the emotional one, I just love that!

This whole garter scene, was hysterical…never before had I seen one guest get so excited to catch a bouquet and then to receive the garter.  I saw the happy “couple” dancing after the garter toss so maybe it brought them good luck?

Ellen, hamming it up for the camera, at the chocolate fountain!

And then, it was over, but never to be forgotten.  It was a great night and everyone looked like they had such a wonderful time.  Hope you are having a fantastic time in St. Lucia, you guys.  Talk to you soon….
