arizona wedding photography ~ kimberly and frank, part II

Okay, so yes, I was working on Thanksgiving, goes with the territory, LOL….but being it is THANKSGIVING, I wanted to give thanks for having been hired to capture this wonderful, yummy wedding, so filled with emotion, color and charm!  As promised, Part II is a wonderment for the eyes…..this blog post will cover their fantastic details and the colors of what made up their day at the fabulous Montelucia Resort and Spa.  First up, a fusion piece we put together of their day and then some of the stills of our constantly crazy wedding party….

and our insane foursome made up of our bride and groom, of course, and Kim’s sister, Michelle who played the role beautifully as our Matron of Honor along with Frank’s cousin, Anthony!

I have dubbed this photo Frank as “La Grenouilles Jambes” or frog legs” enuf said, LOL….

The “GUYS”………

not to be outdone by our “GIRLS” and who were in rare form displaying their famous shawl lasso trick!

I seriously heart this large crock!

Some portraits of our happy couple in and around the many photo ops that Montelucia Resort offers to their clients….

I was like “just stand here on the edge of the fountain, don’t fall in for goodness sakes, and hold hands and look at one another….so first take, Frank looks at Kim, but Kim is too busy doing what, laughing what else!

Then Kim pulls it together and looks at Frank just in time for him to look away, oh well, you guys are too funny….

Love the effortless breezy look in this next photo….

And, what portrait session would be complete, without a portrait taken with Camelback Mountain in the distance, gorgeous!

Kim going crazy laughing one more time!  I mean, I am laughing just editing these photos…you crazy girl!

Kim and the some of the “staff” at Montelucia!

And a crazy one!

HaHa this was funny.  Rich had returned to outside as we forgot to get Kim’s bouquet from near the fountains and so I came upon this wall of just picture frame mirrors.  I said “ok guys give me your funniest faces…..” there were like 5 of them, one more funny then the next!  Kim kept changing it up, Frank, he apparently only has one funny face in his repertoire, a “fish face”!!!!  Albeit, a good one, but sadly, only one, LOL!!!

Some wonderful details taken throughout the day….

On the grounds of Montelucia, is this wonderful shop called “Julia Baker, Confections”.  OMG, I thought I had fallen asleep and entered a dream.  What an adorable little space and the cakes and pastries, tres magnifique!!!!  They were such a sight to behold.  You felt like you had left the US and taken a trip over to a little Parisian Street, where they have the most fabulous little store fronts all bedecked in chocolate.  Chocolate truffles, bon bons, pastries, puffs, all a vision for the eyes, so much so, that you don’t even want to eat them, they are too pretty.  Once inside, we met the girl who was working there and she was so sweet to let us come in and take a few shots.  They truly might be my absolute favorites of the day!  Although everyone on earth now knows I am a major Francophile, so this didn’t hurt.  I was so good as well, didn’t eat one little thing!  HAHAHA

Just check out this cake in the store….beautiful!  They were the ones who also did Kim and Frank’s cake which was a vision as well further down the post!

Apparently, Kim prefers to eat Frank’s ear lobe!  LOL

The resort at night, gorgeous, I might add.

Then, like I said in Part I, we took Frank back up to the spa, where we had started our day.  At night, the sky is all illuminated with little twinkling stars and this crystal, which is supposed to impart good will, serenity and health to all those who place their hands on it and take in it’s aura, was our next in a line of shots…

I felt like I was in a scene from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone!  I mean how cool is this place?

Then down to the ballroom to take a few more details before our party got underway.

Then it was time to get this party started….

and as soon as the wedding party, as well as, our bride and groom were inside, there was no doubt, this was gonna be ONE…..WILD…..NIGHT!

Then the dj, Party Masters Arizona, got the crowd back in their seats and we were ready to do our “serious” first dance….but as our happy couple got up to take to the floor, Kim slipped on something wet on the floor and went a sliding and a slippin’ as Frank, shown in the photo below, goes and grabs her just in the nick of time, LOL….what does Kim do?  Why laugh, of course, LOL!

As their dancing lessons, proved from the “judges” below, they got an almost perfect score!  Perhaps DWTS is calling in your future?

A word about our toasts, they were so funny, that after the toasts were given, Kim’s dad, Richard, came up to me and said that they could hardly concentrate on Michelle’s speech as they were all laughing at how much I was laughing!!!  First Richard spoke and his speech set the mood. It was so funny about how Kim, Michelle and Diane, their mom, are so close and all.  And, how when they were planning the wedding, all he did was “write the checks” which so many dads know all to well.  He said “as a matter of fact, he is STILL writing the checks”!!!  Then Michelle got up to give her Matron of Honor speech and she spoke all about how they had met.  How Frank had worked in Lowe’s in the tile dept. and how on one specific day, they had gone into as a family, Kim, her mom and dad, to see about flooring.  Frank, apparently caught not only Kim’s eye, but also that of her mom.  She had gone on to say how Kim’s track record of boyfriends hadn’t been all too good up to that point, and that many of the boyfriends didn’t last past one single date.  While at Lowe’s, Kim’s mom, Diane, made sure to have her daughter linger in the tile aisle just a while longer and her dad made a comment to Frank about how he could “chat” with her via FB, apparently in the eyes of our children, a major faux paux!!!  I hear ya, Richard, I get the same things from my own kids, LOL.  Well they did go on a fateful date, and apparently when Michelle didn’t receive “the” requisite call after the first 1/2 hour of the date, her and Diane, thought “hey maybe there IS something to this guy, Frank!”  And, well we all know the ending of the fairy tale……..and from the looks of some of the toast pics, I wasn’t the only one laughing out loud, Richard!!!  HAHAHA

What a fun wedding this was, truly….

OK, cake cutting….another funny saga….got to tell it, Kim, I mean come on!  So the maitre ‘d, is nice enough to set up the whole cake and all and comes and asks us which direction we prefer to shoot in, etc., which is swell and so nice when a maitre ‘d does that.  So we explain what we want for picture purposes.  Kim, comes over and removes the letter “C” for Calise and turns it around backwards!  I’m like “Kim what are you doing?”  We laugh and she places it back in the cake.  Two seconds later, she removes the letter “C” again and does the same thing!  The music is starting the cake is ready to be cut, we are laughing so hard, I am like “Woman, step away from the “C”!!!!!  OMG, she makes me laugh…

then with all the removals of the “C” and all, they couldn’t find the “place” to cut the cake!

And just before the cake cutting ceremony was finished, what did she do, she removed the “C” again!

Our happy couple is honeymooning in Cabo, so have a fabulous time, I know you will and it was our pleasure to be a part of your wonderful day.  A big thank you to the Orifici family for recommending us on this one, we love you guys!
