phoenix wedding photography ~ angela and james’ wedding

It was Angela and James’ turn this past Saturday!  Yeah…..  You might remember Angela and James’ engagement shooting that appeared here on our blog.  It was the one that took place at the Scottsdale Fairmont Princess Hotel as well as, their new house, reminiscent of the one that Angelina and Brad did in “W” Magazine.  Anyway, there wedding took place at the Fireside at Desert Ridge.  We had a gorgeous day here in the valley, not too hot and not too cold, just a clear, beautiful, blue sky day.  We used that gorgeous house of Angela and James and their adorable dog, Riley, live in, to begin our day.   Now, the first thing you will notice is this wedding has lots of pink, and I mean lots of it.  It is, indeed, Angela’s favorite colors.  The first thing you notice about Angela is, in fact, her love of all things girly.  She loves anything associated with the color pink, high, high stiletto heels, roses, fashion, interior design, bling in all shapes and forms and anything, that I would imagine, has the word “princess” in it.  She reminds me of a dark haired Barbie, and I mean that in the best of ways…  She is tiny and gorgeous, to be sure.  So when we ascended her big, spiral staircase to their bedroom, where did we find her and the girls?  In her pink dressing room, mais oui!

Lots of pink details…..the wedding invite, all the girl’s bouquets, her pink feather purse, and one of our engagement pics in a pink frame beside a dish to hold all her jewelery with her monogram, in the pink dressing room of course!  Oh and can w say how much we adored her peachy pink Badgley Mischka shoes she wore <3  When we arrived, Angela had already had her hair done and her beautiful make up done as well.  Her make up was done by Heather Wilson.

And…….How adorable were the girl’s short, pale pink, silk dresses?  So cute, I just loved them!  Angela’s sister, Amanda, (second from left) played the part of Matron of Honor.

Angela’s gorgeous Pronovias gown…..

And just take a look at Angela’s drop dead gorgeous earrings!

And, what would you expect our bride to wear on her lips, but pale, pink lip gloss from Nars!

A balcony off one of the rooms in Angela and James’ house had this gorgeous little terrace.  A perfect spot for an impromptu picture location.

Then it was getting time to leave their house and head over to Fireside to take some more photos.  But first, we had to descend that gorgeous staircase.  Angela said when they purchased the home, she pictured the grand staircase would play a part in some wedding bridal portraits, and she was right!

We had to take a pic with Riley….she is the love of their life and is so sweet…here she is acting every part the princess, or is that lioness, hahaha!

Some photos of her alone out back by the cacti….

The two sisters, I thought they looked so much alike they were twins….but no….just sisters and best buds.

Now how cute is Owen, our groom’s nephew and brother to Tatum, one of our junior bridesmaids above.  I just loved, loved, loved, his outfit.

Here he is with Angela holding the sign he is to walk down the aisle to.  On the flip side, it had a secret message….

Owen, you are giving away our secret a tad too early, LOL….

All the gorgeous flowers were done by Aspen Renee Flower Boutique.   She did such a fabulous job, I just adored them.  They just set the affair so perfectly, with their feathery plumes and all.  I could just see them fitting Angela’s personality so well.  On the tables when you arrived at Fireside, were the pink, brown and cream ceremony cards along with two, big canvases, one displaying the word “SHE” on which was written all the things for which Angela is either known, or her likes.  And, on the other side of the table, was one for James, the big “HE” and on his was written the same.

Whew, the rings arrived safe and sound….

The guys looked so dapper and yummy in their khaki brown suits with white shirt and pale, pink ties…

James, makes his appearance down the aisle with Officiant Jay Whitacker of Gwen and Phillip Waring’s  Arizona Ministers.  They walked to the string quartet known as Encore. I love string quartets, they are so classy and just add such an air of elegance to a ceremony.

Angela, walked with her mom, Dorothy and her husband, Greg to the top of the aisle where they were met by Angela’s dad, Bernie.

How pretty was this ceremony scene, outside by the trees, hung with tiny glass vases holding pink flowers, pink and gold ribbon balls on the edges of the pews and a petal strewn aisle.  Just so pretty….  Originally, the two flower arrangements set on the table were to be put on tall, gold, glass vases on either side of the first pews, but due to the high wind that kicked up in the afternoon, plans had to be changed.  I always say you have to be flexible and really how pretty are they on there?  No one even would notice that wasn’t their original location of choice.

Owen, took a quick “refresher” nap during the ceremony and when we were done, he was ready to go!  Got to love kids…

Loved the fist pump, you guys, it just made the end of the ceremony.  See couples, don’t ever be afraid to show emotion and make it your own….

Little Owen, woke up, and flipped his sign over, right on cue!

Our “fashion” foursome, hahaha….showing some good attitude!

Then into the game room for a few pics with our guys…

Here is James getting ready to “break”, but unfortunately, me, not being a pool shark a la Paul Newman or Jackie Gleason, apparently didn’t rack them up very good, according to the guys in the wedding party.  Who knew there was an art to doing that!  Sorry, James, LOL…..

I had to put this photo in of Owen, he looks so sad.  His dad was holding his bag of Skittles for him while he took a few pics with us.  Unbeknownst to Owen, his dad, Eric, was stealing some for himself, which made Owen, well……not so happy :(

Time for cocktail hour….and what?  If you guessed a pink martini, well you guessed right!

Some gorgeous details by Aspen Renee again in the way of our table arrangements.  Special thanks should also go to Mary McCoy of Chic Events.  She was such a helper and did such a great job of coordinating all things wedding for Angela and James.  She kept everyone and everything where it had to be at the specified time.  Wait till you see what a gorgeous job she did with the candy bar set up!

Angela’s dad, Bernie, was our dj for the evening.  That was a first for us, we had never had one of the major players doing the entertainment, but if anyone could do it, Bernie could and did it he did.  He had lights going, music for every occasion and even got up and did one mean Michael Jackson interpretation!  Bernie was everywhere and he did it with ease and grace.

Our videography team for the evening was Serendipity.  They were two really nice guys and such a pleasure to work with.  I can’t speak about the final project, but we worked great together and they were very personable.

Catering was provided by AZ Inspirations Catering and was so delicious…..we had such different things and each was superb.  The staff was so pleasant and always provided a smile and laugh to go along with their great service and tasty food.

Our cake for the evening was baked by Piece of Cake Desserts, got to love that name!  It was simply delicious and smelled so fresh from the moment I saw it awaiting it’s appearance during the reception.  James had an adorable groom’s cake made in the shape of his university insignia.

Hope you are having the time of your life in Costa Rica, you guys.  Talk to you when you get back and thanks for the privilege of photographing your wonderful event, we had a blast!
